London and the Thames
London and the Thames have provided Victor with subjects throughout his working life. Bridges, riverside wharves, parks, stations and interiors appear in many different media, alongside early panoramas and extended views exploring distance and the wider cityscape.

Panoramas and Vistas
Along and Across the Thames
The Thames and its banks have given Victor subjects ranging from wharves and riverside structures to the Thames Barrier and the many bridges of central and west London. Some appear first as preliminary sketches and then as finished works, showing how an initial observation develops into a more complete image.
The drawings are arranged roughly in the order they would be encountered travelling upstream, from the Thames Barrier towards Richmond. This is not a comprehensive survey, but a selection of places and structures along and across the river that have caught Victor’s eye.
